Today’s On The Easel is an infant’s portrait in natural light.

Very small infants are absolutely lovely while they observe their world around them. They truly embody the innate energy of innocence and presence

and the ‘beginners mind’ that so many major religions seek as wisdom.

As I live my Life self-educating as a self experiment,

I like men’s belly dance music.

And my algorithm brings forth

a channel of Turkish dancers.

All very wiry very tough guys in thrusts and hip rolls,

drums, violin, clarinet, other strings,

old guys with finger cymbals,

and fast, strong physical dancing my dance seeking rhythm really loves.

100% ALL MEN unless a grandma clapping on her seat.

Though these men are professionals, I am not really watching them in seductively dancing,

I am watching the style of some specific dancers.

And my crush: An unnamed performer with a fresh natural skill.

I saw a early reel with enthusiasm and a unique, natural enjoyment.

A little chubby guy with a great smile and an ease my inner dancer recognized.

Then tourist photos of him busking on the street, still smiling,

then at a wedding, in neat, nice haircut and nice shirt.

In time the thing done for the joy of it

will change in the routine of it,

the baby face will be changed by the hours and food

and stimulants and some places surgery.

Some stars deliberately cultivate gigantic ponderous bellies to jiggle.

I do not know him, but please protect his spirit and his smile in the cutthroat ocean he swims in.

Protect the groups he plays with, the people who help his life and livelihood.

And keep him safe from the ‘inspiration’ of the jelly bellied.

And a fast-moving song my brain calls “the bak bak bak bak song” for fun. No dancers, just the music. Enjoy!

I photograph joyous dancing feeling

that stirs my feet, my hips, and my soul.

short bursts of words my mind plays

in response to a picture or feeling.

Not song lyrics or anothers poetry

but what my mind says in seeing it;

the repeated refining and speaking it aloud,

the ear to hear a new sentence within,

Face of toddler chlid swung upside down.


Counterintuition: an instant change of picture and response,

given by neuro and physical emotions saying, ‘this, instead‘.

It’s a part of your intuition and a place that comes from even further out / (or deeper);

a ‘wild card’ of deep knowing, immediately.

It requires trust in yourself like never before,

physically being in your body like never before,

which is the practice of inside body connection and inner communication

that builds mental and emotional strength to do other things,

and in that spirit, ultimately, the things you were meant to do.

 I really focus and laugh and relax:

Hold the ‘angry baby’ of me,

sooth and hear what is it she is saying.

get the words out, hear the real emotion

and the words I say without censor.

And then I cry and then I laugh and cry again,

and when I come back to normal breathing

to come back to the picture with deeper and better feeling

if it returns at all, repeated, as many times as needed.

The wordless emotions of pictures connected to nerve endings no longer a mine field.

It can surprise you while it’s happening, but preparation and set mental intention

make the emotion my friend, like a child’s trust for their mom will be heard,

I return in time to my breath, showing my peace of mind.
